Product Overview
Welch Vacuum provides several oil types tailored to rotary vane, diaphragm, and hybrid pumps. Each formulation supports optimal vapor pressure, viscosity, and chemical resistance.
- Direct Drive Rotary Vane Oils: Designed for high vacuum performance and thermal stability.
- Belt Drive Rotary Vane Oils: Formulated for extended service intervals and low backstreaming.
- Chemical-Resistant Oils: For aggressive vapors and corrosive environments.
- Synthetic Oils: Longer life, better cold starts, and reduced deposits.
- Flush Oils: Used for cleaning and maintenance between oil changes.
Each oil type is matched to specific Welch pump models. Using non-recommended oil can void warranties and degrade performance.
Selection Guide
To choose the correct oil:
- Identify your pump model (e.g., CRVpro, DuoSeal, etc.).
- Check operating conditions: temperature, chemical exposure, and vacuum level.
- Refer to Welch’s compatibility chart on the product page.
- Use flush oil before switching types to avoid cross-contamination.
If you're running pumps in a lab with corrosive gases, chemical-resistant oils are non-negotiable. For general lab use, synthetic oils offer longer intervals between changes.
Maintenance Tips
- Change oil regularly: Frequency depends on usage and contamination levels.
- Monitor oil color and viscosity: Dark or thick oil signals degradation.
- Use flush oil during servicing: Especially when switching oil types or after exposure to harsh chemicals.
- Store oil properly: Keep sealed, away from moisture and temperature extremes.
